S aughs Farm Cottages, situated in the most unspoiled of landscapes, blend timelessly into the wild beauty of their surroundings. There are panoramic views of Christainbury Crags and the Bewcastle Fells sweep into the distance providing endless miles if countryside and bridleways to explore.

The cottages, developed from the original farm byres, are highly individual and full of character. Centrally heated, they have wood burning stoves and are equipped to a high standard with washer/drier, fridge freezer, dishwasher and television in each cottage. They are comfortable, uncluttered and stylishly furnished. Each cottage has it's own patio with garden furniture (Barbecue available). Linen, towels, heating, electricity and an initial log supply is included in the price. You will also find a special 'Welcome' food pack awaiting you on arrival.

The cottages are suitable for up to six. Should you need to accommodate a larger number two cottages can be let as one with an appropriate discount. Cots are provided free on request and a folding bed can be arranged if required.

We are happy to take dogs free of charge by arrangement and there are excellent stabling facilities.

Whether you spend your days on the farm or getting out and about, returning to the comfort of your own country cottage will make perfect relaxing end to each day .

For those who enjoy walking, cycling or riding there are many miles of forest tracks, bridleways and footpaths to explore. The Reiver Cycle Trail passes nearby (cycles can be hired locally) and riders can bring their own horses - the are excellent stabling facilities on the farm. Horses can also be hired and tuition is by arrangement. Saughs Farm offers freedom to roam or ride its acres and should you be interested in water sports, Kielder Water is not far away.

Priories, castles and churches of interest can be found locally along Hadrian's Wall , whilst the historic city of Carlisle with its castle and award winning museum is only 40 minutes distant by car. With  the Cumbrian Lake district within easy reach.

There are also excellent stabling facilities on the farm and a BHS qualified instructor, so bring your horse to and discover the endless country trails and forest bridleways before returning to the wood stove in your cosy cottage.
Follow in the footsteps of the Border Reivers as you explore a timeless landscape steeped in history. Delight in panoramic views as you traverse moorland where wildlife abounds and skylarks still soar.
Whether you are a novice or an experienced rider, we will provide a horse that suits your needs. Our Spanish horses are beautiful to look at and magical to ride. They are stylish and graceful but strong and gentle , i f you have no previous experience of Spanish horses, you are in for a treat! You will be thrilled and delighted by these intelligent, sensitive animals.
The proprietors, Kevin and Jayne, are experienced guides and also offer riding instruction to BHS standards if needed. They will ride out with you each day, organising a picnic lunch, pub stop or barbecue en route, returning you to the farm after a satisfying day in the saddle.
